MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

PRESENT - Councillors – A Jones (Chair), D Jenkinson, R Bell,  Mrs J Slawson,  Mrs J Burley, Mrs M Mycock, Mrs K Coe, N Jenkinson, P Redfern, D Tagg, Mrs S Sharland and Mrs L Vale.

ALSO PRESENT – R Smith Clerk to the Parish Council & County Councillor Mrs L Chilton.

District Council reports

1.     District Councillor Mrs Coe reported that she is attending a liaison working group on Health & Wellbeing.

2.     District Councillor Mrs Coe said that the County Councillor elections are to be held  on 4 May and the District election for the Woodville Ward will be on 11 May.

MINUTES OF THE Ordinary Meeting on held on  Monday 13 March  2017                                              

The minutes were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

Councillors D Jenkinson and Mrs K Coe in respect of Dethick Hall under Correspondence re Car Park Manchester Lane.

POLICE MATTERS                                                                                                                                  

1.    No report received from the Police.

2.    District Councillor Mrs Coe is still trying to set up training with the speed watch volunteers.

3.    Councillor D Jenkinson asked if the speed gun can be obtained as there are currently sufficient trained individuals to carry out a speed watch. District Councillor Mrs Coe agreed to contact the Police.

       1.    The Clerk presented a monthly update on all outstanding matters; this is attached to the minutes.

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS

1. Councillor D Jenkinson  reported that there is a large pot hole near to the speed hump near to 3/5 Kendricks Close.

RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC.

PARISH NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE                                                                                                   

1.     Councillor N Jenkinson reported that he is now putting the final details on the newsletter. He circulated a draft copy and asked for comments. It is hoped that the newsletter will be sent for printing next which and ready for collection before 27 April. 

2.     Councillor N Jenkinson said he has enough volunteers for delivery and will distribute leaflets before the Bank Holiday week-end.

 

3.     The Clerk asked if 2 vacancies on the allotments could be advertised. 

4.     The Chairman thanked Councillor N Jenkinson for all his hard work.

 

 

171/17     RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS                                                                                                

1.    The Clerk reported that the repairs on Goseley recreation ground will be carried out shortly

2.    The Clerk reported that Agreements and Invoices had now been sent to all Allotment holders

3.    Councillor D Jenkinson asked about a defibulator being installed near to the Rodney. He has had tentative talks with the landlord and he is fully supportive of the insulation. Councillor Mrs Coe said she would be available to train volunteers RESOLVED Clerk to enquiry about costings etc.

4.    Councillor Mrs Coe reported that the 'Elephant' piece of equipment at Main Street recreation ground needed replacing

RESOLVED Clerk to contact suppliers for the cost of replacing.

1.     The National Living wage has been increased from  £7.20 to £7.50 per hour  wef 1 April 2017. In line with current policy the Parish Council pay £0.50 above the minimum wage.

RESOLVED  that the Lenghtsman is paid at a rate of £8.00 per hour with effect from 1 April 2017.

2.     Payments are being received re allotments as bills sent 26 March.

3.     Concurrent Functions payment received £15815.00. 

4.     Precept 1st half year received 6 April

RESOLVED that futher discussions take place between the Diocese and other users of the site before a final decision is made. Clerk to contact the Diocese.

•       HVRA - re telephone kiosk

The Parish Council were very pleased with the high standard of work carried out by the HVRA in making the telephone kiosk a very attractive Information Centre.
