MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

PRESENT - Councillors – A Jones (Chair), D Jenkinson, R Bell, Mrs J Burley, Mrs M Mycock, Mrs K Coe, N Jenkinson,, Mrs S Sharland,  Mrs L Vale, P Smith and D West

 

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE - Councillors - Mrs J Slawson and D Tagg & District Councillor R Tipping

 

ALSO PRESENT – R Smith Clerk to the Parish Council. 

 

 

 

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

District Council reports

1.     Councillor Mrs K Coe reported it was a slightly disappointing Safer Neighbourhood meeting as it clashed with Woodville Parish Council meeting.

2.     Councillor Mrs K Coe reported that following several complaints from residents throughout the District  egg boxes cannot be placed the Green bins.

MINUTES OF THE Ordinary Meeting on held on  15 May 2017 (inc AGM), the Annual Meeting of the  Parish 24 May and Recreation Working Group of 22 May The minutes were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

POLICE MATTERS                                                                                                                                         

There were no reports from the Police.

 MATTERS ARISING                                                                                                                                       

1.     The Clerk presented a monthly update on all outstanding matters; this is attached to the minutes.  

2.     The Clerk informed the meeting that Councillor I Harper was no longer a Parish Councillor and the Parish Council will be advertising to co-opt a member.

3.     Update on insulation of Defibrillators the Clerk reported that he had taken delivery of both defibrillators and one should be installed at the Rodney over the next few days and the second at Goseley Community Centre will be installed shortly.

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS

1.    Councillor Smith reported that 30mph sign at the entrance to the village on Ticknall Road requires repair

RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC.

2.    Councillor Smith reported that the local farmer had complained about dog fouling in his fields, particularly the field near to Ticknall Road

RESOLVED Clerk to request additional Dog Fouling signs from SDDC.

3.    Resulting from the Parish Meeting held on 24 May Councillors discussed parking on Main Street outside the school.

RESOLVED that the Clerk write to the Head requesting parents consider either, walking to school, using the Church car park and asking parents to consider car sharing. The Head should also be asked if additional car parking can be found within the school boundary.

 

4.    Councillor Mrs Coe said she is arranging a walk aound the area with D Bateman (Senior Safer Neighbourhood Warden for SDDC) ascertain where additional dog fouling signs should be sited.

5.    Councillor Mrs Coe said she is still trying to arrange speed camera training.

6.    Councillor Mrs Burley reported that all pavements had been resurfaced on the Goseley Estate.

PARISH NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE                                                                                                          

1.     Councillor N Jenkinson reported that the website had been updated with new events coming shortly.

2.     Councillor N Jenkinson said the site continues to used on a regular basis..

RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS                                                                                                          

From the meeting held on 22 May of the Recreation Working Group it was- 

        RESOLVED

a.      Clerk to pursue additional funding for further development at Main Street.

b.      Contact SDDC about Sportsmobile leaflets

c.       A 3rd defibrillator is installed at Lower Midway with the Parish Council meeting the full cost, Clerk to order as soon as possible. 

d.      Clerk to order new signage from SDDC for Goseley recreation ground.

e.      No additional dog bin to be provided at Goseley recreation ground.

f.        An additional newsletter to be published in September/ October highlighting the concerns about dog mess in the Parish.Councillor N Jenkinson agreed to produce the newsletter.

 

1. It was reported that the down pipe recently installed requires replacing due to vandalism and an end rig tile had been displaced

RESOLVED Clerk to contact P Nevitt.

2. The Clerk reported that the RoSPA reports had been received and he highlighted some of the recommendations

 RESOLVED -

a.     The Clerk will for next month's meeting bring a report showing all the major concerns in the report.

b.     Review all signs highlighted in the report

c.     Arrange for the play equipment to be steam cleaned and where necessary have them are painted.

d.     The Clerk said he had reported the gate at the entrance to Salisbury Drive recreation ground as it was off its hinges. Also posts have been erected next to the shops on Salisbury Drive.

•     Please note on the minutes of 10 April  a Direct Payment for April salaries was shown as £226.25 it should have shown £200.25. The correct payment was paid to HMRC. The Parish Council is asked to approve the clerical error.

RESOLVED the clerical error be noted and apprropriate minute amended..
