MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
9 July 2018

PRESENT - Councillors A Jones, (Chair), D Jenkinson, Mrs K Coe, Mrs M Mycock, Mrs J Burley, P Redfern. D Tagg, D West and Mrs S Sharland.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Mr Roberts said that residents of Manchester Lane were concerned that the planning application for the pruning of trees at the rear of Manchester Lane was no to be discussed by SDDC until the day after the Appeal Hearing on the log cabin. Councillors felt that this was an unfortunate coincidence but Councillor Mrs Coe said she would make enquires at the District Council.
District Council report - 1. Councillor Mrs K Coe reported that she had spoken to SDDC about mowing of recreation grounds and was reassured that there is to be a complete review. 2. Councillor Mrs K Coe reported that SDDC will be producing an up to-date version of 'Who does What' directory. 3. Councillor Mrs K Coe said that the speedwatch equipment had now been requested by another Parish therefore it was unlikely to be a speedwatch within the Parish this year.
County Council report 1. County Councillor Mrs L Chilton gave an up to-date on the number of grit bins within the Parish that the County Council maintain. . |

The minutes were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

POLICE MATTERS 1. No Police present and no written report. 2. Councillor Mrs Burley reported that there had been some anti social behaviour around the Community Centre. She has reported this to the Police.

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 1. Councillor Mrs Sharland reported that the footpath off Sandcliffe Road was overgrown. RESOLVED Clerk to ensure footpath is cleared. 2. Councillor D Jenkinson reported that branches were over hanging at 4 Church Street making it difficult to pass safely along the road. RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC.

RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS 1. The Recreation Working Group's report was discussed and it was- RESOLVED that all the recommendations should be actioned as soon as possible. The provision of a container on Salisbury Drive was also agreed to be erected subject to a suitable quotations and specifications.

Ref 9/2018/0506 - the erection of a log cabin for use as a work unit only with the creation of parking and turning area and decking and the erection of a portacabin Buildings Farm, Ticknall Road Due to the lateness of the notification for the last meeting in June the Clerk applied for an extension of time so that it can be discussed at the July meeting). The Parish Council objects to the proposed development site which has been in operation for several years (9/2013/1024) however the applicant now seeks formal permission to develop the site. Other issues are- a. Impact on traffic using an unmade /unadopted pathway. b. impact on an existing bridleway/ footpath (which appears blocked). Please note that footpath signage has been removed. c. It is estimated that up to over 30 vehicles using this track. d. The proposed building is not in keeping with surrounding properties e. The site development is an intrusion into the countryside. f. the development is totally unsustainable. g. Environmental effects on charcoal burning both to near-by properties and the National Forest. |
