MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

12 November 2018

Goseley Community Centre, Hartshorne

 

PRESENT - Councillors – A Jones, (Chair), R Bell,  Mrs K Coe, N Jenkinson, D West, Mrs J Slawson, Mrs J Burley and P Redfern.

 

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE - Councillors P Smith, Mrs S Sharland, D Tagg, D Jenkinson and Mrs M Mycock.

 

NOT PRESENT - Councillor R Coe

 

ALSO PRESENT – R Smith Clerk to the Parish Council and County Councillor Mrs L Chilton plus one member of the public

 

 

             

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

No comments

 

District Council report - 

Councillor Mrs Coe had nothing to report on SDDC matters.

 

County Council report

1.    County Councillor Mrs L Chilton reported that there was a new Small Grant Scheme available to organisations.

2.    County Councillor Mrs L Chilton reported that the pot hole on Elmsdale  Road has now been repaired.

3.    County Councillor Mrs L Chilton informed the meeting that the outstanding monies owed to DCC from Midway FC was now in the hands of the Legal Department

The minutes were then approved as  a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

POLICE MATTERS                                                                                                                                

1.     No Police present and no written report.

2.     The Police were present at the Area Forum  held on 24 October.

3.     It was reported that in the area vehicle thefts were on the increase.

 MATTERS ARISING     1. The Clerk presented a monthly update on all outstanding matters; this is attached to the  minutes.

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS

1. Councillor Mrs Burley said that she had reported 13 street lights that were out to DCC, all but one has now been repaired.

PARISH NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE                                                                                                

1. Councillor N Jenkinson reported that the web site had been updated to reflect the winter walks and the film night on 18 November.

RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS

1. It was reported that the litter bin on Salisbury Drive requires replacing RESOLVED Clerk to order a replacement.

REPORTS FROM OUTSIDE BODIES

1. Councillor Mrs K Coe reported that there were no matters relating to Hartshorne Parish at the recent Area Forum Meeting.

2. It was reported the next Hartshorne Charities meeting will be held on 22 November.

PLANNING MATTERS

 

Applications

1.     App. 9/2018/1084 -  proposed extensions at 85Woodville Road, Hartshorne DE11 7ET. No comment

 

2.     App. 9/2018/1054 - the installation of a underground calor gas tank at 43 Repton Road, Hartshorne. No comment

 

3.     App  9/2018 /0941 - retrospective planning for the erection of a pergola and pond at land at SK3321 0293 Rowans Woods, Ticknall Road, Hartshorne. No comment

 

SDDC Green Open Spaces Review

The Chairman reported that there were 3 plots of land within the Parish that had be designated as Green Open Spaces, a plot of land to the rear of the  Old Mill Wheel , the Triangle at the junction of Brook Street and Manchester Lane and a piece of land at the junction of Manchester Lane and Heath Road, Boundary.

RESOLVED that the Clerk write to SDDC the confirming their support in the designation of the two of the pieces of land, however the Parish Council is disappointed that the land at Manchester Lane is not supported by SDDC.

2.          Consider donation to Hartshorne Cricket Club re Firework Display 3 November.  RESOLVED similar to previous years a donation of £250.00 is made.

RESOLVED Clerk to contact WMC to seek advice on clearing head stone.

       Janet Parnell - Burial records for Edna May Sturt, Woodville RESOLVED to refer the query to the Magic Attic.

       SDDC - Christmas Lights switch on 30 November

       Goseley Community Centre - request for funding re new fire doors.

RESOLVED in response to a detailed quotation the Parish Council will make a donation of £1440 (50%) towards the installation of new doors.

       Community Rehabilitation Company - Payback scheme, work over winter

RESOLVED that the Clerk contact the team and suggest painting of fences at the Goseley

Community Centre
