PRESENT - Councillors – A Jones, (Chair), Mrs M Mycock (Vice Chair), Mrs J Burley, N Jenkinson, R Bell, Mrs J Slawson, Mrs K Coe, D West and J Seaton

 

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE - Councillors Mrs S Sharland, P Smith, Mrs N Landsborough and

District Councillor Gee.

 

ALSO PRESENT – R Smith Clerk to the Parish Council , District Councillor Taylor, County Councillor Mrs L Chilton and District Councillor M Dawson.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION None

 

1.          District Council report - 

District Councillor Taylor reported that there had been a frank exchange of views with the Police at the recent Area Forum. Concerns were expressed over ASB in the Goseley area.

MINUTES OF THE Ordinary Meeting on held on 10 June 2019.                                                      

 

The minutes were then approved as  a correct record and signed by the Chairman. Matter Arising

 MATTERS ARISING                                                                                                             

          

Co-option of Parish Councillors

Prior to the start of the formal part of the meeting the Clerk reported that he had received an application to be co-opted on to the Parish Council from Phillip Redfern a former Parish Councillor up to May 2019.

RESOLVED that Phillip Redfern is  co-opted on to the Parish Council as ward members for Hartshorne and Goseley Ward

 

The Clerk presented a monthly update on all outstanding matters; this is attached to the minutes.

RESOLVED that the reference to Village Planters at the entrances to the Parish should now be change to Parish signage. The Clerk to contact the National Forest to revise joint financing of the project.

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS

Naming of streets on Broomy Farm.

1.     Several requests from Parish Councilors that 'Jenkinson' is added, both for is work in the community plus he falls into the category of an 'Engineer' 

RESOLVED that the Clerk request that 'Jenkinson ' is added to the proposed street names. Councillors agreed with the basic theme of 'Engineers' to be used for street names but the District should ensure that street names already in use within the District should not be used e.g. Adams and Gresley. 

 

2.     A written request from Councillor Mrs Landsborough that  the poor state of repair of Pear Tree Close the Parish Council should request that it is resurfaced RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC Highways.

 

3.     Councillor Redfern reported that the pavement near to the entrance to the Dethick Hall required repair as it was very uneven. Also parking on Woodville Road

RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC Highways and Police.

 

4.     Councillor Bell asked if the field at the rear of the Mill wheel could be cut as it       impossible to use the public footpath. RESOLVED Clerk to contact owners

PARISH NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE                                                                               

1. Councillor Jenkinson suggested that an additional newsletter should be produced in the autumn

RESOLVED Councillors to submit ideas for articles as soon as possible..

RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS

1.     Complaints had been made about the height of weeds at the rear of some houses on Salisbury Drive that back onto the recreation ground.

RESOLVED Clerk to contact N Dawson Landscaping

2.     Annual report by Rospa

The Clerk reported that the annual Rospa had been received and he is currently reviewing all observations and where required take appropriate action. However there were no major defects found on any of the equipment.

3.     Request from Councillor Mrs Landsborough that the school work with the tenants at Kendricks Close.

RESOLVED Clerk to contact Councillor Mrs Landsborough.
