MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
10 February 2020

PRESENT - Councillors – A Jones (Chair), , P Smith, D West, Mrs S Sharland, J Seaton, Mrs N Landsborough, R Bell, P Redfern and N Jenkinson.
APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE - Councillor, Mrs J Burley, Mrs M Mycock, Mrs J Slawson, G.Tubey and Mrs K Coe: District Councillors S Taylor and M Dawson and PCSO Dean Badham-Spalding.
ALSO PRESENT – R Smith Clerk to the Parish Council, District Councillor M Gee, County Councillor’s Mrs L Chilton and G Musson
Before tha start of the meeting The Chairman informed the meeting of the death of Mr Alec Brealey. Mr Brealey had been for many years a keen contributor at Parish Council meetings and also a very keen allotment holder..
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION None
District Council report -
1. District Councillor M Gee reported that SDDC are currently costing replacing the fencing at The Cutting which will also include Limestone Way and Bentley Close. County Council report - .
2. County Councillor Mrs L Chilton reported the County were currently gritting all main routes within the County. 3. It was reported to County Councillor Mrs L Chilton about the poor parking outside Eureka School. She said it would be reported to the Education Department but also suggested the Parish write to both the Highways Department and the Police. 4. County Councillor G Musson said that he would investigate the problems of speeding along Sandcliffe Road and report back to the next meeting.

MINUTES OF THE Ordinary Meeting on held on 13 January 2020.
The minutes were then approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

POLICE MATTERS 1. No reports from the Police. 2. It was reported that there was some damage at the Community Centre over the new year, this was captured on their CCTV and the Police have been informed.

MATTERS ARISING 1. The Clerk presented a monthly update on all outstanding matters; this is attached to the minutes. |

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 1. It was reported that HGV are increasingly using Sandcliffe Road when there is a 7.5 tonnes wait restriction. RESOLVED Clerk to contact CREST and also the Police. 2. Training of volunteers from Sandicliffe Road area in speed gun application to be pursued. RESOLVED Clerk to contact CREST 3. Councillor Smith suggested that as £1000.00 had been included the Clerk should pursue the purchase as soon as possible to try and ensure volunteers are trained before the summer months. RESOLVED Clerk to purchase a speed gun 4. Councillor reported that the gullies on Ticknall Road required cleaning, the culvert near to Saw Mill is nearly overflowing RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC. 5. Councillor Smith reported dog mess in the Ticknall Road, Repton Road and Brook Street areas, this was supported by several other members. RESOLVED Clerk to contact SDDC. 6. Councillor Jenkinson reported that the new bus shelter on Main Street still has no lighting RESOLVED Clerk to contact SDDC.

PARISH NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE 1. Councillor Jenkinson asked all Parish Councillors to supply a passport sized photo to be included on the Parish web site. 2. Councillor Jenkinson asked for contributions to the next Parish Newsletter to be distributed in March/April.

RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS 1. The Chairman reported that the waste bin near to the MUGA on Salisbury Drive requires repair RESOLVED Clerk replace the inner compartment. 2. The Clerk reported that the Parish Council currently does not have a lease for either Salisbury Drive or Goseley Recreation grounds RESOLVED Clerk to contact SDDC with a view of obtaining a 21-year lease.

REPORTS FROM OUTSIDE BODIES 1. Several Councillors attended both Safer Neighbourhood meetings where ASB was a major problem in both our areas. 2. Councillor Mrs Mycock and Clerk attended a very informative meeting on grants for mainly recreational facilities.
