Minutes of the ordinary meeting of Hartshorne Parish Council held at

7.00 pm on Monday, 9th January 2023 7pm at Goseley Community Centre

Cllr Jones welcomed everyone to the meeting.

         

172/2022            Public participation

A resident who lives on Repton Road raised concerns regarding the state of the road and reported many issues including the width of the road, verges, the amount of traffic on the road and ditches.  Resident asked for the parish council to support his concerns.

Cllr Jones confirmed the resident should report his concerns direct to DCC and the Parish Council would be happy to support the resident by contacting Cllr Muller.

RESOLVED: Minutes agreed as a true record and signed by the Chair.  All Cllrs agreed.

                          

179/2022            Recreation Grounds

 

7a Recreational Grounds – RESOLVED that Tree and Gardens complete work at Main Street

7b Noticeboards – RESOLVED that Clerk get further quotes

7c Football pitches – Clerk confirmed she had emailed the football club regarding the car park and is awaiting a reply

7d Trim Trail equipment – Clerk confirmed she had completed a survey and has emailed SDDC to query deadline date to apply for S106 funding.

 

180/2022            Clerks report and Action Log

Clerk reported there is no further update regarding the Goseley Bus Service

Clerk confirmed EON had written asking if the Parish Council would like a Smart Meter fitted.  RESOLVED that Cllrs agree to a meter being fitted

Clerk confirmed had sent an email to Cllrs regarding the provisional local government finance settlement 2023 to 24 for information

Clerk confirmed Hartshorne Cricket Club have requested further 106 money for site screens at the cricket club and the due process is to make the parish council aware and request support for the application?  RESOLVED All Cllrs support the development of the 106 application.

182/2022            Highways and Public Footpath

Cllr Seaton reported he has set up a new group for community speed watch, Cllr Smith has received commitments from the police for training and a leaflet drop will take place.  6 volunteers are required and 3 have been recruited.

Cllr Seaton reported HGV’s are still using Sandcliffe Road.  Cllr Tubey confirmed restriction signs were put up which has made a difference.  Resolved that clerk to Contact trading standards to request standard form and contact SDDC to look at the signs by the junction of Sandcliffe Road and Burton Road as they are not visible.

Cllr Mycock reported there is graffiti on the jitty near the community centre and SDDC has been out to try and clean it but has not been done correctly.  RESOLVED that clerk ask SDDC to review and clean up again

Cllr Jones reported the speed limit sign is still missing on the cutting.  RESOLVED that clerk report to DCC.

Clerk to confirm she is receiving emails to the new email address

Cllr Jones confirmed the newsletter needs to be completed by March and Cllrs should send contributions to the Clerk.

RESOLVED that Tree and Garden complete hedge cutting at allotments due to recommendations received.  Meeting arranged for 6th Feb 6.30pm via Zoom

Clerk confirmed she has requested a quote from another organisation and is awaiting feedback.
