Parish Council, Chairmanís Comments
Two of our members have resigned due to other commitments, and we have co-opted one new Councillor. I thank all our members for their work during the year.
Issues have been raised with both County and District Council representatives, and we have made representations on planning applications when we believed that they would have an effect on the local community. We also responded to the District Councilís recent consultation on the local plan and sought to have Leewood Valley recorded as an asset of community value.
We have maintained the three recreation grounds within the Parish and the Summer Activities Scheme will be returning this summer. As part of the late Queen Elizabethís Diamond Jubilee, we installed a commemorative bench on each of the recreation grounds. We have also purchased and installed two new notice boards at Kendricks Close and Goseley Community Centre.
A meeting was held with representatives of our local allotment holders and proposals have been drawn up for some improvements to the allotments.
We are currently in the process of obtaining quotations for a traffic activated speed sign which could be used at a number of locations in the Parish.
