There is no Public Car Park in the Parish, although considerate street parking is permitted on most highways. There is a car park at the Church Hall which used by visitors to the Church, Church Hall, The Village 'Dethick' Hall and the Bulls Head Public House.
The 3 recreation grounds within the Parish are maintained and operated by the Parish Council. The Parish Council have a sub-committee who regularly review the play and exercise equipment provision at each of the recreation grounds. If you wish to see any alterations or additions to the recreation grounds please contact the Parish Clerk.
As well as the 3 Recreation Grounds there are many public footpaths within the Parish that lead out in to the beautiful countryside that surrounds the Parish. The Parish of Hartshorne is situated centrally in the National Forest which over the last few years has matured into a wonderful woodland area, providing an extensive environment for wildlife.
Hartshorne Parish Council is consulted on all planning applications referring to Hartshorne, submitted to the Planning authority, which is South Derbyshire District Council. Applications are considered at each Council meeting. Members of the public are able to speak on planning matters at the beginning of the Council meeting. The public can view these plans on the SDDC website.
All the recreation grounds within the Parish are provided with paly equipment for children of all ages. Main Street ground has a selection of exercise equipment for adults
There are no Public Conveniences in the Parish.
The Parish Council meet usually on the second Monday of each month, with the excep[tion of August when no meeing is held. Parish Council meetings are open to the public to attend, and 15 minutes is provided at the start of each meeting for local residents to voice their concerns or raise issues for future discussion by the Parish Council.
