MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

8 January 2018

Goseley Community Centre, Hartshorne

 

PRESENT - Councillors – A Jones, (Chair), Mrs M Mycock, D Jenkinson, P Redfern, Mrs K Coe R Bell, D Tagg , R Coe, N Jenkinson and Mrs J Slawson. 

 

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE - Councillors, Mrs J Burley, Mrs S Sharland, P Smith, D West and County Councillor Mrs L Chilton.

 

ALSO PRESENT – R Smith Clerk to the Parish Council..

 

 

 

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION                                                                                                                        

Mr Roberts asked for the full support of the Parish Council in their objections to the proposed log cabins on Manchester Lane. Residents in the area felt that this new application had made no improvements to the original one. The Chairman said this would be fully discussed but felt the Parish Councils views remain unchanged.

 

District Council reports

1.     Councillor Mrs Coe reported that despite the severe weather on December refuse collection in the area was not affected.

2.     Councillor Mrs Coe reported that there had been some fly tipping on Manchester Lane.

3.     Councillor Mrs Coe informed the meeting of the dates of the next Safer Neighbourhood meetings County Council report

1. Councillor Mrs Coe on behalf of County Councillor Mrs Chilton reported that DCC may be in contact with Midway FC requesting the £5000.00 donation is reimbursed to DCC.

MINUTES OF THE Ordinary Meeting on held on 11 December 2017 and Finance  Working Group 11  December 2017.

The minutes were approved as  a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

       1.    No Police present and no written report.

 MATTERS ARISING                                                                                                                                

1.     The Clerk presented a monthly update on all outstanding matters; this is attached to the minutes      

2.     The Clerk reported that the vacant post of Parish Councillor has now been advertised on all the public notice boards.

HIGHWAYS, PAVEMENTS & PUBLIC FOOTPATHS

1. It was reported that a drainage cover near to 45 Brookdale Ave required repair. RESOLVED Clerk to contact DCC.

PARISH NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE                                                                                                   

1.     Councillor N Jenkinson reported that he continues to keep the web site up to date. No reports

2.     The possibility of forming a subcommittee to was discussed however it was agreed that Councillors would submit articles to Councillor N Jenkinson who would that form a newsletter.

RECREATION GROUNDS & ALLOTMENTS

1.   Concerns were expressed that nobody had come forward to maintain the area of land at the junction of Brook Street and Repton Road.

RESOLVED Clerk to make enquires with the Cricket Club and HVRA..

1. Councillor D Jenkinson informed the meeting that Hartshorne Charities had agreed a donation of £6000.00 to the Hartshorne Cricket Club.
