82/2025 Public
participation
BSR Paws on the pitch gave an overview
of the event. Shortage of funding to run
the event, requesting a donation from the parish council.
County
Council
Cllr Hill confirmed the parish council has now received a reply regarding
the SID. Cllr Hill understands that there are a number of
highways issues within the parish along with potholes and signage. Cllr Hill has also raised the issues of the
potholes of Dunsmore Road.
Cllr Smith reported the white line on Dunsmore Road and Manchester Lane
need renewing due to fading making the road not showing.
Cllr Coe reported the signage at the bottom of the Cutting requires
reviewing.
Cllr Smith reported as you come into the village from Ticknall Road, the two
30mph signs require repairs.
Cllr Slawson reported the wait limit sign is not visible on Manchester
Lane.
Cllr Hill confirmed she would review the issues in the parish.

planning applications in the parish.
Cllr Archer confirmed the Local plan will be ready in November.
Cllr Hill will review the gulley clearing.

88/2025 Recreation Grounds
· Fencing at Mount
Road. Clerk confirmed she had chased
Tree & Garden services for a quote.
· ROSPA play area inspection. Clerk confirmed she will complete an action
plan for any medium areas highlighted.
· Clerk confirmed quotes
received wet-pour at the recreation grounds and sent
to the Cllrs.
· Cllr Jones reported the
gate at the car park is missing at Mount Road
· Resolved Clerk to arrange a recreation group meeting to review work
required in July with the finance meeting to take place straight after to
discuss matter including the pavilion report completed by Cllr Stevens.

Tubeys sad passing and a suitable donation, in-line
with his wishes was discussed. Resolved
£50 donation towards Gresley Football Club.
Budget to be adjusted.
Clerk confirmed she has
been in contact with SDDC and the parish council will
advertise for Cllrs from the 1st July
2025. Cllr Jones confirmed there are 6 parish
councillors in Midway and 9 in Hartshorne.

90/2025 Planning Applications
DMPA/2025/0624: The retention of existing front porch and render used for extension
approved under planning approval 9/2019/0048 at 237 Woodville Road, Hartshorne.
Object the following comments to be sent: The structure,
projecting some 2.5 m from the front of the house, should never have been built
and sets a dangerous precedent for the rest of that row of houses. This particular structure also precludes the neighbouring
property from adding any form of compliant porch due to its roof configuration.
DMPA/2025/0603 The erection
of a single storey rear and side extension with loft conversion and rear dormer
at 7 Pear Tree Close, Hartshorne. No
observations
Street Naming and Numbering Application SNN/2025/04503
Application for a new street name to the rear of
69A Repton Road, Hartshorne. Resolved
Clerk to put forward Carver Close due to the links with the village
DMPA/2025/0562 The formation of a vehicular
access to serve 77 Sandcliffe Road, Midway,
Swadlincote. No observations due to lack of information
DMOT/2025/0620 The pruning of a Holly tree
covered by South Derbyshire District Council Tree Preservation Order no. 501 at
4 Church Street, Hartshorne. No observations

Public Footpaths

Clerk confirmed road sweep is taking place 13th
June in Hartshorne. Resolved clerk to find out
where there will be a road sweep.

Clerk confirmed she is awaiting bin prices for the
parish from SDDC.

Cllr Landsborough reported that Kendrick Close footpath has been trimmed
·
Cllr Landsborough confirmed residents reported that the footpath at the
back of Brook Street to the Mill is full of rubbish and a high stile. Resolved Clerk to write to landowner
·
Cllr Landsborough reported residents have raised concerns regarding the
poor condition of footpath 15 and the stile requires
repair.
·
Trees on Main Street require cutting back. Resolved Cllr Coe and Rogers to review
·
Cllr Handley reported footpath 15 near the dog breeding business is
overgrown hedges and barbed wire.
Resolved Cllr Handley to review and take photos.

Cllr Slawson reported that Tower Road is looking
a lot smarter apart from the pavements. Resolved Cllr Hill to report.

Resolved that Clerk confirm with
DCC that the post on Sandcliffe Road has not been
repaired. That the parish council
approve a new post on Ticknall Road Column no 46669 outside No 17 Ticknall Road
and structural information to be sent to DCC regarding Woodville Road be
forwarded to DCC.
